Ken and his wife Chris, who successfully took on the role of Social Secretary until June 2012, were both members of the Melksham Lions Club and in his dedication, Simon explained that although Ken had been a member for only a few years, he had been completely dedicated to the organisation; working very hard at arranging fund raising events for the local community. After his speech, everyone raised a glass as a toast to Ken. The seat will be overlooking the Bowling green.

Although the Melksham Lions Club has been going since 1973, Ken and Chris were the first couple to both become members.
