2016 Handover Dinner

Members and their spouses met up last night (28th June) at the Rising Sun Pub at Lacock to celebrate the handing over of the Presidency of Melksham Lions from Lion Jim Whyborn to Lion Keith Mead. Lion Jim has been President of the Club for the last 2 years and in that time has achieved much of note. In particular Lion Jim was responsible for the instigation of the donation of Emergency Reception Packs to a local Hostel for Vulnerable Homeless Persons. A task which continues to provide some much needed help to people at maybe their lowest point.

Lion Keith takes over the Presidency after 16 years of service with Lions International. Lion Keith has been a member of the Melksham Lions Club for around 18 months and in that time served as Membership Chairman.

In addition Lion Simon White, a founder member of the Club in 1974,  was presented with a personal gift by Lion Jim of a “Presidents Appreciation Award”. The award was to say big thank you for all the work he has done and continues to do behind the scenes to support the Club activities.

A great evening was had by all with good food, good company and good conversation continuing throughout the evening.
