Maesteg Choir - A Sell Out

They came, they sang, and didn't they sing. With a FULL HOUSE notice outside, the Maesteg Choir kept a 200 plus audience enthralled for their whole two hour performance. Then, after a break for refreshment, they started again, this time informally. For another two hours they gave choir, solo and 'everyone join in' items. When they decided that it was time to go with one last singing of the Welsh National Anthem, there were still a 100 people in the audience. With cries of please come back next year people went off homebound, into the night.
Melksham Lions Club are pleased to tell you all that the choir have said they WILL try to return, if only because of the warm welcome Melksham always gives them.
It was a great evening, but like all such events it had be organised. The Lions would like to express their appreciation to not only the audience and the Choir, but to those of you out there who sold the tickets; to the staff of Melksham House; the St. John's volunteers, who stayed with us right to the end and also to our own 'front of house ladies' who coped with tickets, programmes, raffle tickets, lost property, endless enquiries etc.. Where would we be without our ladies?

The MAESTEG CHOIR

They performed once again at Melksham House on Saturday 26th April with their celebrated musical director, Rhian Yamin-Ali. The Llynfi Valley has a long tradition of Male Voice Choirs and Côr Meibion Maesteg a'r Cylch (Maesteg and District Male Choir) is proud to uphold this tradition. Since its inception in 1974 the Choir has given immense pleasure to thousands of people at home and abroad, as well as raising a tremendous amount of money for charity. The choir has strong links with the Maesteg Comprehensive School where they help nurture young people's musical talents and have held joint concerts with the school's own choir.
