Who are 'we'? We are your local Lions, at Melksham, in Wiltshire; members of Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why. Local Clubs are part of the world's largest such organisation, with more than 1.35 million members within 45,000 clubs, serving in 200 countries and geographical areas. The association is both non-political and non-sectarian. Melksham Lions Welcomes New President 2010 sees new President, Lion Peter Dauncey, take the reins from outgoing President, Lion Simon White. Many thanks go to Simon for his efforts throughout the last two years of office and we look forward to the forthcoming presidential term with Peter in seat.The official 'hand over' will take place at Melksham House on Tuesday July 20the 2010. Even if you feel you can only offer a small amount of time or resource, you will be very welcome. Many hands make light work, and a lot more fun. Please get in touch! So... Are you looking for a challenge? Something that is personally meaningful and gratifying? Would you like to help those less fortunate than yourself? Do you want the opportunity to participate in projects, to your full potential? Where your contributions will be valued, and you will be recognised for your achievements? Look no further! We meet at 8pm on the first Tuesday of each month at: MELKSHAM HOUSE Market Place, Melksham, Wiltshire. We also get up to some social activities such as evenings out, and having guest speakers come along. These events usually fall on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Come along and join in, a warm welcome awaits you. |
