|Welcome to Melksham Lions
Cheque presented to troupe
A cheque for £200 was presented to Enigma Twirl Team. Youth activities are always an important part of Lions Clubs Worldwide. The cheque was presented to Tanya Denning-Kuijper (Troupe leader) by Jim Whyborn (Lions President) and Sue Whyborn (Lions Secretary)
Handing over the reins
Jim takes the chair
After two years in the hot seat, Lion Steve Petty has handed over the presidency to Lion Jim Whyborn to take us through to 2016. Thanks Steve, for all your hard work, and Jim for everything you've just taken on!
Lions being busy bees
Lions get busy
Melksham Lions are pleased to have been able to assist in the provision of a beehive for the wonderful apiary at this tremendous community farm. Some of our Lions recently visited to see how busy the bees were beeing...
Oh the fun we had!
May 31st 2014: Melksham Market Place and the United Reformed Church saw a great day of celebration with lots to see and do. The event also included the International Town Criers Competition which was a great success, and quite loud!
Visiting Melksham again
Always a great night
12th April 2014: Melksham Assembly Hall saw this year's return of the Maesteg Choir, and oh what a night! You just HAD to be there. You weren't? Well then come along in 2015!
to our website. We hope you will find it to be of some use; that you find the information you require and/or your curiosity satisfied. Please take a look around the various pages provided, and do let us know if you feel we could provide any other details you consider to be absent yet expected.
Who are 'we'? We are your local Lions, at Melksham, in Wiltshire; members of Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why. Local Clubs are part of the world's largest such organisation, with more than 1.35 million members within 45,000 clubs, serving in 200 countries and geographical areas. The association is both non-political and non-sectarian.
As this year we celebrated forty years of service to our local community, we would like to express our thanks to all past, present (and future!) members, and to all those who have been involved in our efforts for your support not just during this year, but throughout all forty of them.
We also extend our warmest wishes to everyone for the festive season.
2014: OUR 40TH YEAR!
We've had a great year of celebration and the usual fundraising antics that we enjoy so much. What a great year! So now it's time to look ahead and continue the journey. We hope you'll join us, at least for a part of the way.
WHY NOT JOIN US? NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME
We are a small club and new members are always welcome. Even if you feel you can only offer a small amount of time or resource, you will be very welcome. Many hands make light work, and a lot more fun. Please get in touch!
'Fun?' we hear you ask... Yes!
We looked it up and it seems we do (it's official) have quite a lot of it.
