Cakes & Cuddlies
A great day had by all
Another wonderful day at the 2015 Party In The Park; lots of happy faces and especially those that won our cuddly lions (and had some of our scrumptious cakes!)
Visiting Melksham again
Another great night
25th April 2015: Melksham Assembly Hall saw the return of the Maesteg Choir, this year along with an extra musical treat Take Note. A fabulous night again!
Cheque presented to troupe
A cheque for £200 was presented to Enigma Twirl Team. Youth activities are always an important part of Lions Clubs Worldwide. The cheque was presented to Tanya Denning-Kuijper (Troupe leader) by Jim Whyborn (Lions President) and Sue Whyborn (Lions Secretary)
to our website. We hope you will find it to be of some use; that you find the information you require and/or your curiosity satisfied. Please take a look around the various pages provided, and do let us know if you feel we could provide any other details you consider to be absent yet expected.
Who are 'we'? We are your local Lions, at Melksham, in Wiltshire; members of Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why. Local Clubs are part of the world's largest such organisation, with more than 1.35 million members within 45,000 clubs, serving in 200 countries and geographical areas. The association is both non-political and non-sectarian.
Lions Seen in Seend
- Saturday 8th August 2015
What a lovely day at Seend; perfect weather and a good turn out of lions. Angie's cakes were very much appreciated and the lion tombola had a steady stream of hopefuls. All takings very gratefully received and added in to the pot for our continued work in the community.
Donation To Wiltshire Mind - Wednesday 5th August 2015
Our President Lion Jim Whyborn presented Wiltshire Mind with a cheque for £100. Wiltshire Mind help many people in Melksham and the surrounding areas. They have just opened a charity shop in Melksham and have generously given us some items to help homeless vulnerable people in Melksham. If you would like to help too, we are looking for pots, pans, bedding, etc. to give to those who have nothing and are in a position of need. If able to help please call us or send an email; contact details here.
