Melksham Lions: Our History

Formed in 1973, Melksham Lions were Chartered in 1974.

The Charter President was Lion Stuart Beese, still a very active member and is seen below presenting a cheque to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance

The current President, Simon White, (below) having just taken over from Steve Petty, is looking forward to a busy year with several projects and events already in mind.

In addition to a continuing commitment to the Air Ambulance the Club has an ongoing interest in the Message in a Bottle scheme. This provides a system to ensure that ambulance services have access to information on individuals when they have cause to visit a vulnerable person in their home. Other ongoing support is given to Water Aid and also of course to many local deserving causes and cases of need.
