BE SURE TO LOOK AT OUR 'SOCIAL' PAGE TOO; ALL ARE WELCOME!
WHY NOT JOIN US? NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME
We are a small club and new members are always welcome. Even if you feel you can only offer a small amount of time or resource, you will be very welcome. Many hands make light work, and a lot more fun. Please get in touch!
'Fun?' we hear you ask... Yes! We looked it up and it seems we do (it's official) have quite a lot of it.
COMING UP
The Maesteg Choir will be visiting us again this year, on April 28th. Without doubt a great night and a highlight of our calendar. Ticket details will be made available shortly; we look forward to seeing you there!
RECENT EVENTS
DECEMBER 12th to 24th 2011 - CHRISTMAS FLOAT
Santa visited Melksham again this year to make sure the Christmas cheer was spread evenly thoughout our community. As usual our members made him welcome with a few mince pies and some hot milk(?) and he encouraged everyone to come out and wave; some with a coin or two for a good cause. Many thanks to all those who helped and/or contributed. Happy New Year!
October 21th2011 - DOTTY PINK!
We were thrilled to be welcoming Dotty Pink Productions along to Melksham House. DPP is a group of locally based artistes who created a fabulous show-songs show for all; raising funds for local hospices and care facilities. A great night!
NOVEMBER 26th2011 - CHRISTMAS FAYRE
JULY 16th 2011 - PARTY IN THE PARK
We were there again, as we always are come rain or shine. This year there was a slight lack of shine, resulting in a comparatively low turnout to the event. But with THREE sideshows this year, some still came along to join in the fun. We even had the amazing Professor Twist along with us, sculpting balloons aplenty! See you next year; book the sunshine!
JULY 10th 2011 - FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL
A good day in the Market Place. We were there from 11am to 4pm.; the afrertnoon being the busier part of the day. Thanks to all those who came along and had a go at our Twizzle Board and Lollipop Lucky Dip!
MAY 28th 2011 - JAPAN DISASTER
Our members were at Sainsbury's in Melksham collecting donations to assist aid in Japan. Many thanks go to all those who made contributions.
MAY 22nd 2011 - BOOT SALE
Our first boot sale saw a reasonable turnout in the Leekes car park on a very windy Sunday afternoon; a good introduction to the scene for us. Thanks to all those who came along to help and/or grab a bargain. Special thanks go to the Air Cadets for their parking attendant services, and of course to Leekes.
Côr Meibion Maesteg a'r Cylch!
2011 Maesteg Choir visit. We were very pleased to welcome again the Maesteg Choir to Melksham House on May 21st 2011. As always, a fantastic evening of choral delight. Tickets are already in demand for next year's concert, so if you missed it this time around... make sure you get in for 2012!

DECEMBER 2010
SANTA'S VISIT TO MELKSHAM. Melksham Lions were delighted once again to escort his eminence Father Christmas around the streets of our town during the lead up to Christmas 2010. All those who came out to wave, smile and throw some coins in the bucket were hugely appreciated by the big man in red and all his little helpers. He said he'd come back for Christmass 2011, so... best behaviour everyone!
NOVEMBER 27th 2010
MELKSHAM CHRISTMAS FAIR. Melksham Lions attended the fair again this year in the Assembly Rooms. Many thanks to all those who came along to see us! What did the lucky dip bring up for you?
OCTOBER 9th 2010
Melksham Organistations Fair - Melksham Lions had a display stand at the Organisations Fair again this year. Thanks to all those who stopped by.
JULY 17th 2010
PARTY IN THE PARK! Melksham Lions were in attendance with a stall during the afternoon of this year's Party In The Park event. Did anyone manage to whack the rat? A fine day for it, and if you weren't there.... WHY NOT? :)
The evening carnival procession saw a pair of caged lions paraded through the town. Quite friendly, they were seen to wave at the crowds and reports suggest they took tea a little later. Longleat has been informed...
MAY 22nd 2010
Another wonderful evening of song; we were thrilled to welcome back the Côr Meibion Maesteg a’r Cylch, otherwise known as the Maesteg & District Male Voice Choir, on May 22nd. A fantastic night as is usual for the 'Maesteg Night'. Tell everyone you know; this is ALWAYS a fantastic night out and you should keep your eyes open for the next one! (We have this in for May 21st 2011; to be confirmed but mark it in your diary now!)
